Also, you may consider getting a WIFI router that uses 5.8 GHz. All this really means is that you may need to move this hub away from your WIFI router and your computer. If you have hard drives plugged into it, it's best to not plug in more things while the computer is on as it may cause the drives eject which has happened a couple of times but never lost any data. I have this powered hub works great for me. Some devices just don't work unless plugged directly into the Mac. You could drive a car over it.ĮDIT: Forgot to say. I tried FOUR before I found one that worked reliably without devices disappearing. USB3 is notoriously flaky and it's VERY fussy about USB hubs. I've had USB hell with the trashcan Mac Pro.
Is there such a thing as a USB hub with 4 USB ports to a thunderbolt? Any other solution? I purchased one of the USB splitters, however, the power they supply isn't enough to power the bus powered items like the superdrive CD recorder. However, I have keyboard, mouse, ILOK, CD drive, Akai keyboard, and several SSD hard drives, which all require USB. It has LOTS of Thunderbolts of which I'm only using one (Apollo).
I have the new Mac Pro (garbage can type) and it only has 4 USB ports. I'm sure I'm not the only one with this issue and I'd like to know if there is a solution.
